JUNE 12 CELEBRATION: KUDOS TO PRESIDENT BUHARI

Though *Retired Gen. IBB* has so far refused to tell Nigerians what actually prompted him to annul the globally acclaimed June 12 1993 Presidential elections, which was adjudged to be the freest and fairest in our national history, yet we have doubt that as long as he (IBB) lives, nothing but TOTAL REGRET and self-blame will be on his mind on memorable occasions like these!

Without doubt, the psychological torment of the missed opportunity of being Nigeria’s greatest Leader ever and being one of Africa’s greatest statesmen in the class of Nelson Mandela is enough punishment and trauma, worse than *a prison term* or *death sentence*.

On this occasion of the *First Celebration of June 12 as Nigeria’s Democracy Day* therefore, we must give kudos to *President Muhammadu Buhari* for listening to the yearnings of all right-thinking Nigerians and for having the courage to do the needful when we thought all hope was lost.

Renaming a national monument in the class of Abuja National Stadium after Bashorun MKO Abiola is indeed a courageous move on the part of the President and It is no doubt a major victory for patriotism and democracy in Nigeria. We salute the President and his Deputy, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo for this historic achievement. They have written their names in gold and hstory will be kind to them.

As we celebrate this landmark, we must also commend Africa’s Martyred Hero of Democracy, *Bashorun MKO Abiola* and all other martyrs of the struggle, who paid The Price; their selflessness and sacrifices will never be forgotten. They did their bit and are no more, but today Nigeria is better and we are on the path to perfection and total freedom.

Commendations must also go to all the Pro-Democracy Movements and lovers Democracy in the land for their doggedness and commitment, especially the living legend of the struggle, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, The Jagaban himself.
In the course of the struggle for the actualisation and recognition of #JUNE12, Asiwaju fought outside the “System” with wit and tact. He won, but relented not. He continued the struggle even within the “System” after taking the “System” and now he has won again. Posterity will never forget you Sir.

Today success has been achieved and history has been made. And going forward, it can only get better for Nigeria and Nigerians in the #NextLevel.

On this note, I want to warmly Congratulate our leaders and our people in Ikeja Constituency 2, Ikeja Federal Constituency, our beautiful State of Lagos and our country Nigeria at large. It’s a new dawn.

On this occasion of the *20th Anniversary of uninterrupted democracy in Nigeria and 1st Celebration of June 12* as Our Democracy Day,
I say Congratulations and Happy Democracy Day to you all. #NEXT_LEVEL.
