Faleke wins APC Ikeja Rep ticket

Today’s All Progressives Congress National Assembly primaries monitored in Ikeja, Lagos state by Lagos Panorama would have been recorded as peaceful but for the Ogba Oluwole ward F of Mrs. Toke Benson the only aspirant contesting against the incumbent Hon James Abiodun Faleke.

The Ogba-Oluwole ward was entirely an opposite of the other 9 wards of Ikeja that witnessed a peaceful process. Toke’s ward F was marred with violence and the election was cancelled as party members had to escape for threat to their lives by hooligans.

Meanwhile other 9 wards recorded massive turnout and primaries conducted under peaceful atmosphere.

At the Aina-Ojodu ward B of the incumbent Member House Representatives of the Ikeja Federal Constituency Hon James Abiodun Faleke was carnival of a sort as members were in joyous mood and electoral processes was conducted peacefully.

Faleke spoke with Lagos Panorama at ward congress venue said that “I thank God for the opportunity of today. I also thank the leadership of our party as superintended by our indefatigable leader ‘Jagaban’ Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing a strong people oriented platform with the APC.

The full participation of the party members has made it more interesting, as they are fully involved in chosen those who will represent them and I think that is the best approach to engendering and deepening internal democracy and democracy generally”.

“Mr Yinka Jeje stepped-down for me yesterday, I appreciate and thank him for his good sportsmanship. We are in this together as we are one big family and there are no issues. The massive supports we are receiving is as a result of our past performances and now we will do better. Like our incoming governor alluded it’s going to be an all-inclusive government” the 2 term Ikeja rep concluded.

The returning officer for the APC primaries in Ikeja Local government Hon Ahmed Omisore affirmed that he couldn’t enter the Ogba-Oluwole ward F after he received a distress call from the electoral officer who was dispatched there for the purpose of the party primaries. He now based on results from other 9 wards declared Hon James Abiodun Faleke winner haven polled 26, 398 votes while Mrs Barr. Toke Benson polled just 25 votes.
