Babatunde Oke delivers three SDG projects for Onigbongbo
The Executive Chairman Onigbongbo LCDA Hon Babatunde Francis Oke on Monday played host to Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu for the commissioning of the newly constructed Onigbongbo LCDA Administrative Block, Onigbongbo Customary Court and the network of road with the reconstruction of Folawewo Street off Allen a three sustainable development goals projects.
The Lagos State Governor who was represented by the State’s Commissioner for Justice Mr. Moyosore Onigbanjo while delivering the keynote address commended and congratulated the Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo Hon Babatunde Francis Oke and his team for the laudable achievements. He also stated that “all of these projects would no doubt be of immense benefits to the people of Onigbongbo LCDA”.
“The administrative block will provide the conducive work environment for improve productivity and service delivery”.
“The network of roads would impact positively on the socioeconomic life of the people through improve connectivity with major roads”.
“While the customary court would enhance the process of efficient and effective delivery of justice”.
“The vision of a Greater Lagos cannot be realize through the effort of the State Government alone. Local Governments / Local Council Development Areas have their roles to play being the closest to the grassroots”.
“THEMES agenda is a shared vision with both the State and Local Governments/councils must key into in order to ensure maximum impact on the life of ordinary Lagosian”.
“For these reasons I am highly delighted by the high level of commitment demonstrated by the administration of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area through these projects” he averred
The Lagos State Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs Hon Mrs Yetunde Arobieke also commended Hon Oke for doing a lofty projects” I want to commend you for completing three of your twenty projects you have embarked on”.
“You’re one of our pride, I want to urge you to continue the good work because history will speak for you”.
“I was one of you before and I knew all of what I did when I was in office as Executive Chairman, they became a reference point after I left office. So it is very important that we put these things in place because those are our prides after we leave office” Arobieke advised.
Hon Oke while speaking with media in his new office after the commissioning stated that the people of Onigbongbo will enjoy more dividend of democracy under his administration as he hope to complete some more projects in about few months.
He also urged residents of Onigbongbo to pay their rates “I appeal to residents and business operators within Onigbongbo LCDA to pay their rates as at when due so we can be able to do more for them”.
“We are already clearing our drainages and we hope to complete clearing of all the drainages soon. Then we’ll start penalizing those who fail to maintain their drainages”.
“We have created a conducive environment for our staff and management for effective work delivery. So we expect an improve work output”.
“As you may have known Onigbongbo is a cosmopolitan environment hence most of our residents knows their right and want to defend it so we created the customary court to effective justice” the Onigbongbo Council boss emphasized.
