The Chairman in his budget presentation speech stated that capital projects dominated the 2020 Infrastructure and Developmental Rebirth Budget.

The Council Boss who is a recipient of the Lagos Panorama SDG Grassroots Award noted that “in pursuant of this goal we naturally earmarked much of our projects to capital expenditures. This is the areas of building infrastructures, construction and reconstructions of roads and drainages. Provisions of water to our respective communities. Building of both academic and vocational centres”

The Chairman who also spoke with Lagos Panorama after the presentation, asserted that healthcare and education is also a priority in the 2020 budget.

He stated that “we have 7 Primary Health Centres, of which one is running 24 hours – 7days a week. One of our health-centre with the partnership of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) carryout surgical operations, the only Primary health centre that does that in Lagos state if not in Nigeria as a whole”

“So for a budget of Infrastructure and Developmental Rebirth we have proposed for more capital projects and despite having a large number of primary schools, 18 of them, we have adequately made provisions for the wellbeing of teachers and students alike. We are not limiting our supports to the primary schools but also supporting our secondary schools pupils with procuring GCE forms”.

The Onigbongbo helmsman also spoke on youth engagements “we are already training hundreds of youths in different vocational training and more importantly we are going to equipped them adequately so as to start them up in their respective vocations in order to avoid a situation where they go back to joblessness”.

“Sports is an important means of engaging our youths positively and an avenue of getting them employed. To this end we have different sporting activities coming up with more focus in football and we have had discussion with a professional agent who will oversee their training, groomed them and possibly get them contract with big teams. Don’t forget Super Eagles Striker Victor Osimhen was discovered from Oregun High School here in Onigbongbo and played for an amateur team here in our LCDA. So we are encouraged by this achievement and hope to explore further” the amiable Chairman exclusively confirmed to Lagos Panorama.
